Privacy
This page explains what personal information RiseRole collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. In short: we store only what we need to prepare you for your jobs and run your account, your documents stay private to you, and we never sell your data. It applies to everyone who uses the service and should be read alongside our Terms.
What we collect
We collect your account details (such as your email and sign-in), the job descriptions and resumes you provide, and the tailored resumes and prep we generate from them. We also keep a record of your credits and payments so purchases and refunds work correctly, and basic technical and usage data such as device and browser type, the approximate timing of requests, and error diagnostics. We do not ask for information we do not need, and we never handle your payment card numbers directly — those go straight to our payment provider.
How we use your information
We use your information only to deliver your tailored resumes and prep and run the service: to generate and revise your tailored resume, questions and mock interview, to keep track of your credits, to provide support, and to keep the service secure and reliable. We may use aggregated, de-identified data to understand and improve how the service performs. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
AI processing of your documents
To prepare you for a job, the job description, your resume and your answers are sent to our AI provider, which generates and revises your resume and prep on our behalf. Your documents are private to your account and are not used as training material for models serving other users. We never invent qualifications: the AI works only from the facts you supply and from sources it cites, and you review the result before relying on it.
Speaking your practice answers
In Practice you can speak an answer instead of typing it. If you do, your voice is turned into text by your browser’s own speech service (for example Google, Apple or Microsoft, depending on your browser), under that provider’s privacy terms. We never receive or store your voice recording — we only save the text of your answer, like a typed one. Voice input is optional; you can always type.
Data retention
We keep original uploads for 30 days and remove unclaimed uploads after 24 hours. Jobs, the documents we generated and practice history are kept for up to 12 months after your last activity, with advance notice before removal, so you can return to earlier work. You can delete a job, or your whole account, sooner at any time. Records we must keep by law, such as those tied to payments, are held separately from deleted resume content for as long as the law requires.
Sharing and subprocessors
We share your information only with the providers that help us run the service, and only to the extent each one needs: our AI provider (to generate your resumes and prep), our payment processor (to take payments and handle refunds), our cloud hosting provider (to store and serve your data securely), and our form provider, Web3Forms (to deliver the messages you send through the Contact page to our inbox). These providers act on our instructions under their own privacy and security commitments. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect the rights and safety of users and the service. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
Cookies and local storage
We keep this simple. We use a session token stored in your browser so you stay signed in, along with the limited local storage the service needs to work. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site ad tracking, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.
Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and hosting with a reputable cloud provider, and we limit who can reach your content to what is needed to run the service and support you. Download links for your documents are short-lived by design. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.
Your rights and choices
From your Account page you can export your data as a download, and you can delete a job or your entire account whenever you wish. Deleting your account signs you out everywhere and removes your content from the active service; records tied to payments are kept, separately, for as long as the law requires, and any unused credits are forfeited. If you later sign in again with the same email, you start a new, empty account. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights over your personal data; use the Contact page and we will help you exercise them.
Children
The service is intended for adults and is not directed at children. You must be at least 18 to use it, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, use the Contact page so we can remove it.
International processing
We process data using cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS. Some AI or search steps may run in another supported region, which can mean your data is processed in a country different from your own. We describe our actual processing rather than promising that data never leaves one country, and we rely on appropriate safeguards for any cross-border processing.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or the law changes. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will take reasonable steps to let you know. The version shown here is the one that currently applies, and continuing to use the service means you accept it.
Contact
If you have a question about your privacy or want to exercise a data right, use the Contact page and give the email you sign in with, so we can verify your identity and respond with the right context. That is the best way to reach us about anything on this page.
